Description

Goda, optimas and minister, to Wiohstan, his father-in-law; grant of 4 hides (cassati) at Up Marden, Sussex, with a note of Wiohstan's purchase of a further hide (manens), presumably at Marden, from Ælfred and his wife Ealhswaru. During the reign of King Æthelstan, all of the land was sold to Bishop Wulfhun for 2000 silver denarii and a horse.
