Source Information
Author Anonymous of Whitby
Source Title Book of the Life and Virtues of the Blessed and Praiseworthy Man, Gregory, Pope of the City of Rome
Language Latin

Notes

*In spite of the Colgrave's ascription of the work to a 'monk' of Whitby, there is no reason why it should not have been composed by a nun. See @McKitterick 1994, 'Women and Literacy in the Early Middle Ages', p.28. Chaps 21-9 have not been closely analysed because they contain little information of relevance to the PASE project. (This especially applies to material that would otherwise have been placed in the Event factoid.)
