Description
King William notifies Bishop Leofwine of Lichfield, Earl Edwin of Mercia and all his thegns in Staffordshire that he land of Perton, Staffs., belongs to the abbey of Westminster as fully as King Edward gave it. He orders that Abbot Æthelwig of Evesham and Thurkil the sheriff should protect the land under the king’s authority.
