49 Event Bede.VitCuthbertiMetr  2 When Cuthbert 1 was afflicted with a diseased knee, a man on horse back arrived and told him to prepare some gleaming white wheaten flour with milk in a pot, cook it and place it on the swelling. Cuthbert 1 did so and was healed.
50 Event Bede.VitCuthbertiMetr  1 A three-year old child (Anonymous 29) exhorted Cuthbert 1 not to place his trust in questionable activities, but to strengthen his fixed resolve in the love of the Lord. When Cuthbert 1 laughed at these words, the child started crying and subsequently told Cuthbert 1 that he would become a bishop.
