Notes

*The earliest version of the text is extant in London, British Library, Harleian MS 3859, where the annals are entered at the end of Nennius, Historia Brittonum, chap. 66. The manuscript was written ca. 1100. On the other main versions see @Hughes 1973, pp. 233-4. *For a discussion of the relationship between the versions and possible sources, see Kathleen Hughes, 'The Welsh Latin Chronicles: Annales Cambriae and Related Texts', Proceedings of the British Academy 59 (1973), 233-58, and @Dumville 2003. *Material on Welsh or Pictish kings has been omitted unless the text indicates that they had some relationship with the Anglo-Saxons. *Entries relating to Cornwall have been recorded since this area was under Anglo-Saxon hegemony in some measure from the eighth century and was eventually brought fully under Anglo-Saxon control in the tenth century.
