He told the Pope about the appointment of three bishops in Germany and Carloman 1's request to bring together a council in the Frankish kingdom. He also asked the Pope's advice on various matters, including clerics known to be fornicators and drunkards. Finally Boniface 5 asked the Pope to prohibit certain heathen practices that some ignorant common people, among the Alemannians, Bavarians and Franks, had seen in Rome on the first day of January.
