Description
King William notifies bishops, abbots, sheriffs and French and English thegns wherever abbot Vitalis of Westminster has lands that the abbot shall have all his demesne in Worcs. to the extent that he can show that Bishop Wulfstan, the abbot of Evesham and Regenbald the chancellor demonstrated that the abbey had the rightful title. King William wishes that Abbot Vitalis should hold his demesne throughout England as up to the present, as far as he can show in shire and hundred courts that the abbey held it by King Edward’s gift or William’s.
