Odbert 1 described how Ęthelgar 8 had been a friend of the monastery of St Bertin and had visited it on his way to and from Rome. Odbert 1 said that Grimwaldus 1 would explain his wishes to Sigeric 9 and Odbert 1 then concluded his letter by begging Sigeric 9 to visit him.
