(Author, deacon and abbot of Tours, c.735-804) : Alcuin 1 asked that Anonymi 1879 should act faithfully and wisely in the election of an archbishop, if an election were necessary before he came. He noted that the Church of York had remained guiltless of simony in such an election and urged them to remain untainted.
