Beorhtwald 6 undertook to mitigate the harsh judgments made in the synod because he was terrified both by the Apostolic authority and by the writings communicated to him through the messengers. He was reconciled with Wilfrid 2 and together with their abbots (Anonymi 383) the two of them went to London.
