| Description |
Eadberht 3 was so exceptionally holy that he obtained the privilege of being buried in the tomb sanctified for eleven years by the immaculate body of his sainted predecessor [Cuthbert 1]. He himself foretold his imminent death and burial, when the sacred garments were brought to him, that had for so many years of interment escaped the stain of putrefaction. |
