Notes: Ealdhun 5, a minister of King Ecgberht 9 II of Kent, left lands to CCC when he ventured 'over sea'. These were subsequently confiscated by Offa 7 on what seems to have amounted to a spurious technicality. These lands were then restored, piecemeal, to CCC by Cenwulf 3 of Mercia and a synodal council (805).
