Notes: Stenton 1970, pp. 129-31, wondered whether the last witness in S265 was the king of Lindsey mentioned in a regnal list [see Ealfrith 1]. However, Foot 1993, p. 133, citing Keynes, thinks he is more likley to be Offa 7's son, Ecgfrith 7.
